Does anyone have any suggestions as to the easiest way to get this thing off. I want to apply Shin etsu and make sure the cooler is on flush. My mobo runs at 45c which is ridiculous.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and rewarded. I have tried with a pliers but could only get a few of them off and I really really do not want to break them.

Just have patience, and keep steady hands, pinch them as close to the mobo as possible. Once the widest part is situated in the hole, just give them a wiggle and they should pop right out.

Yeah some nice precision needle nose pliers work the best. Something with a fine point on it, not to fat as to disform the ends to much.

Why remove it? It's pointless.. The mobo will be fine and if anything RMA ;D
My M2N runs also extremly hot but you can still run a nice FSB without pushing a lot of NB/SB volts..

Well when I got my board it ran around 45-50c on stock volts, I resat my cooler with as5 and it never goes over 30 now, also a little pipe twisting was necessary. So what Im saying is they desire the cooler temps that I did once. Well worth it to, brought down all my other temps also.

I have a fan and it still gets crazy hot. As stated at stock it runs at 45-50c which IMO is ridiculous.
