What SCSI controller are you using?
What drives are you using?
Are you using external devices on the same SCSI controller?

Its been a while so if I'm completely off, cut me some slack.

Are you daisy-chaining the hard drives? do the hard drives have built in terminators? If yes to both questions, then you might need to turn off the terminator in one, a jumper setting perhaps?

If the drives don't have built-in terminators, then you will need one.

If you have the drives on separate cables then make sure the terminators on both drives are on?

Again, its been a while, your drives might not even have terminator settings. Can you get one by its self to be recognized?

Perhaps skimming through this guide would help you get ideas on what is wrong?
