Angry Asus M2N not overclocking to well, help plz! =)

HI ALL!

Iv'e been trying really hard to overclock my fairly priced system. but i keep getting into trouble. I am suspecting its the mobo or the RAM. An maybe even my PSU...

But everytime i go over about an FSB of 230, with all RAM, HT, CPU underclocked or devided. I get windows hitting blue screen as soon as it starts booting, or a BIOS error saying 'not enought PCI option ROM'.

Does this mean the PCI bus is overclocking. If anyone could direct me to the switch in th BIOS that stops it from overclocking would be strongly aprecated! cause i cant find anything to do that. grrr

Also could anyone give my there experences in overclocking this board??

Awsome!

Can you post the CPU and memory tabs of CPU-Z at your highest OC?

I’ve noticed that my multipliers and dividers are automatically changing even thought they are set not to. And I also can no longer get as high as I once could. Will changing to an earlier bios help? Any advice would be helpful.

Also to get here i get the usual prompt of -
'Not enough space to copy PCI option ROM [00:08:01]'

And it also failed to boot a few times, but if i boot right after the overclock, everything is stable.
Thanks

First make sure Cool & Quiet is disabled in the BIOS.
Next drop your memory to the 533 setting.
As a general rule you can up your CPU voltage to as high as 1.5v with out any real worries and your CPU temp under load to 55c.
Are your memory voltage and timings on auto or are you setting them manually?

Well turning disabling the Cool & Quiet in the BIOS got me to this maximum stable overclock.
I’ve resolved the auto timings problem and they are now all fixed.

The problem is now that if i go any higher than 230 FSB it boots but windows hits the blue screen of death as soon as I get to the logon screen. Does this have something to do with timings? The RAM is a 2 GB kit of Kingston Value RAM. And yes i have also increased the divider for the RAM and that doesn't help me get into windows.

Please note that the maximum RAM voltage i can set is 1.9V and the max CPU is 1.375V.
Cheers

You can do 1,55V vcore doing wiremod. Look at my post in motherboard volt mods. Be sure cooling is enough if you want to do this, it doesn't make any sense on box, temp will be too high.

Your MB is not known to be a good OC'er,I've helped other people with it and had trouble getting a high OC.
The CPU-Z memory tab shows your value ram is OC'ed which is probably your problem.
Set your Memory Clock Frequency on 533 and see if that helps.
Also you could try these Advance Memory settings which sometimes help with Brisbanes.
Trc 23-26
Trfc 2-3
Max Async Latency 5-8

Here are some ram divider charts that might help.

No help

I can get it to boot at FSB=232 but the multiplyer must = 12 and 12*232=2784 which is less, and it has to be at 533mhx so 2784/9=309mhz which is underclocked... any higher and the OS hits blue screen. Ive also tried every possible timming.

Well I think im going to give up on this until I get some new RAM, which will probably be this weekend. lol

Just a question, will i be able to have 1066mhz RAM in my board provided it passes the QVL? And clocked to 800mhz of cource...

oo and ketyow I will be risking CPU once i have this RAM right now i dont see the point of making more heat. I'm already hot enough! rolf
