Default Quick Nooblet Question...

Hi, I can't seem to find the info anywhere but I need to know if the MSI K9N Neo V3 nForce 560 will take 3 or 4 pin case fans? I'm looking to get 4x80mm 3 pins cos of the price but can't find detailed enough specs.

It's my understanding that if it takes 4 pin fans, then it'll take 3 pins too, as that's just a 3pin socket with a 4th pin - So either way, 3pin fan plugs should fit any mobo.
If that's not the case (The mobo only takes 4pins, and you want 3pins) there are adaptors to convert molex plugs to multiple fan plugs.

The CPU-connector has a 4-pin connection.
It has 2 3-pin connectors for other fans by the looks of it.
And you can always attach them right onto your PSU with a converter (that probably comes with the fans).

edited a little

Of course, yeah I completely forgot that my current fans are all attached to my psu. D'oh! Looks like it's compatible.

ALL 4 pin connectors are notched for 3 pin fans. If you notice, the plastic key is slightly offset to the one side, this allows for a 3 pin fan to connect to a 4 pin slot, just leaves the 4th pin unused.

just a note, there are two different four pin fan connections, one connects to the mobo, just one wire wider than the 3 pin backward and forward compatible, the other is molex that connects to the psu. i mention this because people are talking about different 4 pins. *sry if you already knew that*
