In my personal opinion. The fact that your 9850 won't post even with the new BIOS is not a good sign. Especially since exactly one month ago. I had the same board and same chip, post just fine out of the box with stock BIOS. And, that is exactly what it did when I had problems. It would turn on and off over and over not posting after unhooking power. Try clearing the CMOS and see if it will post.
__________________Maybe you got the board I sent back. Save yourself the frustration, and get the MB in my sig for an extra 30 bucks. It's ALOT better. Cool vid, reminds me of myself, stuff strewn everywhere not caring because all I can see is what came out of the packaging. +Rep for the song choice.

Update: Swapped a 5000+BE back into the M3A-H/HDMI and it runs great! Swapped the 9850 into an older M3A 770 and it seems to run great too, except now I'm working out issues related to that mobo + Atheros L1 Gigabit Ethernet driver, which has nothing to do with the 9850 CPU and has been addressed elsewhere. Will post performance results once I work through the stupid ethernet driver issue... -_-
edit: One problem with the M3A-H/HDMI: I LOVE the express gate (aka splashtop) feature, but despite screenshots I've seen of it elsewhere, MY version (the latest from asus site) has NO wifi capability. This means that all those very cool, very useful functions in express gate are useless unless you have the 'puter hooked up by LAN, which is seems I may have to do. *gets out the power drill & super-long ethernet cords* Anybody able to get wifi on express gate? What am I doing wrong here? Last edited by Erald Coil : 06-25-08 at 12:20 PM. |

Hey just wanted to let ya all know i just bought one of these Mb's and i love it BUT it will only post w/1 stick of 1066 in it if you have 2 sticks of 1066 ram no matter what config you put it in it wont post but take 1 stick and put it into A! I belive is the ram slot (the yellow one right beside the cpu) and posts fine so i ordered 2 more sticks of 1066 going to try 4x1gb 1066 and if that dosent work ill send the 1066 back and go 800 but as far as the board it self goes i love it im having no probs overclocking at all im running AMD Athalon 64 X2 6400+, Shapire Radeon 3870 toxic, this mobo, 500w pus was spossed to be 2 gb of ddr1066 but right now its 1gb ddr1066 in single channel mode and a few other bells and wistles but i am getting almost 18k on 3dmark05 and 11k-11,500 on 3dmark06 and that w/ 1gb ram in single chan mode

It is said that this board only supports 1066 DDR2 with the AM2+ processors. Also I did a power supply test at asus by punching in all my hardware and it said I needed 850watts to run my setup.
ASUS M3N-HT Deluxe AMD 64 X2 6400+ processor 2 8800GT's vid cards 4 gigs kingston hyperx 4 hard drives 5 case fans(excluding power supply fan) 1 cd/dvd rom drive 1 floppy drive 1 pci card(sound card) It is said that a board wont post if it does'nt have enough power. This also applies to how much stuff you have running on a circuit in your house(room). It is also said that you need the latest bios update to run the latest quad core processors on this board. disregard my system specs below thats old. Have not been here in quite some time. Will update later.
