The that's what TMPIN0 says, but my individual core temps are still high, please tell me if I'm reading HWMonitor wrong, I am under the impression that that is the overall CPU temp?

Right now I'm settled with 2.9@14.5x200 and +.05V to CPU. It passes 15min of Prime95 and only gets to 56C. This will be my running OC for now.

You might want to run that test for a number of hours, It still may not be stable. Looking good thou.

HT or Hyper transport or LDT...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyper_Transport

It like anything running at an excessive speed will bring instability.

As will inadequate voltage of the SB when OCing

I think I may change it a little, now that I think about it more. I think I can get the same speed with faster ram stable.

I have been turning it off at night to cure my AS5, so in about a week when I'm through that period I will be able to run some overnight tests.

The 15 min Prime95 is good enough for a few days. I will be doing some testing regarding how much audio processing this can take, using an "UnOfficial" OCN themesong I will compose for audio testing !! Gotta have a test song, why not dedicate it to those of you who have helped me soo much? It'll sound like a fast computer !!

By the way, I turned the OP into a noobs guide to this MB/CPU.

Has anyone had a problem with hissing boards?

Ive had this setup quite a while now and ive RMA'd my board once coz of a hissing high pitched electrical sound from the PWM.

Other than that, its a rock solid setup. I havent tested my chip in depth yet, as I ideally want to get a better cooler. Currently packing a TR SI-128 with a Xilence Red Wing fan and OCZ Freeze TIM. Gonna get myself another TRUE and chill this thing to the core. Maybe even invest in another fan for a Push Pull.

I dont really have any benches as of yet. A quick 'n' dirty OC got me 3Ghz but im sure I can coax some more life out of it with better cooling.

Well, ive got FruityLoops Studio running at the moment.

Running 32-bit stereo with a 192000hz sample rate, 512-point sinc interpolation and a 86ms buffer with 10 different drum samples all playing on a 4/4 sequence. Ive added some Flange, compression, and some phase along with a low pass filter as well.

not even scratching 50% total CPU usage, and its rock solid. Ill probably try upping the number of samples to coax more CPU usage and stress it really out.

Hmm, I haven't even touched the SB voltage. What are the pitfalls of upping the SB voltage? And, which TMPIN in HWMonitor tells us the SB temp?

I have read it's not a good idea to OC the PCI's.

Try it, upping the SB a notch or two won't heat it up a lot.

I thought it odd that the SB even needed extra voltage but I kept getting error out under full load tests until I bumped it up.

I did notice a change in the sound coming out of the case when I first started raising the voltage. Not anymore though. I can't explain why. I don't know if its the MB or what, but there is sort of a TV real high freq sound, but it's not lound and doesn't bother me.

I also am considering a TRUE. The Zalman is not bad, but I like the temps I've seen from the TRUE from some others. Not to expensive either. I'll probably wait a while though and exhaust all other alternatives, like different OCs and voltages.

In what situation should I raise it? I've gotten stability from just raising the CPU voltage, only it obviously raises temps. Is this a way to keep temps down? Raise them both a little, instead of just the CPU alot?
