to put the most stress on my new motherboard? I only have 15 days to return it because it's open box. I already know my cpu and ram are good.

I would run two instances of Prime95. Open it twice and set both to work.
I don't know of any motherboard testing programs... If a board is going to fail, either you put too much voltage through it, or its DOA.

Orthos already tests both cores, I just wanna use the setting that sends the most info through the motherboard.

I don't know. If you're running on the rig now it's fine.
An open box unit is just a item that comes without all the extra stuff, it just is the item in question (videocard, mobo). Most harddrives can be considered open box, as they just come as the drive in bubble wrap.

I'm on my other rig, I need to stress my new one for a bit to make sure it's not gonna crap out on me. Harddrives on Newegg have a 30 day warranty, open box items are only 15 days. That's why I wanna stress it to the max and see if it holds up.

Then run orthos for 12 hours.
I don' know any specific programs for this however. Also, like I've said, if you can boot and install the OS, then the board is fine.

I'm gonna go with "blend"
I read somewhere you should always stress just to make sure when you get new parts.

Usually the motherboard isn't one of them, but you go ahead.

Yeah, blend stresses the mobo the most because it makes lots of data travel between the RAM and CPU, which the mobo is reposnsible for
