Forthe sake of blowing cash, I'm thinkging of getting 5000+ BE for my computer. From what I have seen on one of my mobo programs, it says my max CPU speed is 3000mhz. Is this something that the BIOS will limit? I know plenty of others have more than 3000mhz on thier computer with this mobo. Well, here's a short way to find out, does anyone using version 08/04 BIOS have a CPU spee of more than 3000mhz. If so let me know. Just want to know if I can get this thing past 3000mhz. I can only get to 2.95, but not sure if it's the mobo or CPU.
I have gotten it to about 3150mhz before, but it would barely get into windows like that. Did I just answer my question above?

There's a 24 hour bump rule you know.
Not sure about that 3Ghz rule but sounds kinda bogus to me, I wouldn't worry about it.

All the AMD CPUs I have seem have a 3GHz barrier specified into them, which will show up in spec. read outs like in 3DMark and Sandra. You can still clock your chip higher than that (if it's capable). Most chips do hit a wall around 3-3.1GHz, and it's usually only the high end ones that can break 3.2GHz and above (BEs for example).
