Default M2N32-SLI And SoundBlaster Audigy SoundCard?

I have a M2N32-SLI and a Soundblaster Audigy soundcard and every time i try to dial-up on my dial-up modem it makes the pc to crash. If i go to device manager and disable the card it conects to internet just fine but with no sound. I did disable the onboard sound and it still did this! My question is... can i use the card and dial-up to internet at the same time? MoBo got the 590i chipset.

Have you tried moving your modem and sound cards to different slots? Also, make sure to disable any onboard devices that you are not using, this will free up IRQ's.

You can also try and manually steer the IRQ's for the particular slots. Just change the Resources Controlled by setting in the BIOS from Auto, and you should be able to manually steer the IRQ's. Of course, Windows and ACPI may fight with your adjustments.

There should be no reason why those two cards don't work well together. Might want to also make sure you have the latest drivers for those peripherials.

If you disable the sound, connect to the internet, re-enable sound, then try and play sounds on it, will the PC crash? I'm curious if it's just crashing the PC when it attempts to play the dial-tone through the sound card, or if both peripherials working at the same time is causing it.

Had a very similar experience, similar board (one below) when connecting to the internet, via pci dialup modem, my sound would die, all you could hear form speakers was a constant high pitched squeal, until reboot. Then I bought one of these, works perfect.. From what I researched before, many people were getting problems from ASUS boards in general, and people have found the work arounds, moving your sound card to the lowest, and any other pci cards to the farther spots, which didn't really help me. And then you can change the IRQ's which may also work. I'm not sure how good a price that is, I just typed it in google and picked the lowest one I could see from the search page, Fairly inexpensive option

just to let ppl know, you can set IRQs and stuff manually if it fails to do it properly on auto. Chances are there was a resource conflict between the two cards.
