Default 939 troubles

So you may remember me from the other day on advice about a new rig and being tight on money. Well I found a temporary fix to my new rig. A friend was getting rid of his 939 pc and I managed to score a amd athlon fx-55. I am already convinced this destroys my 3000+ (with superpi times benchies).

So here is my problem. It only recognizes certain sticks of my RAM, and believe me I have tried every combination humanly possible. The RAM worked fine in the 3000+ but wth? So I plan to just scrap this crappy RAM and just buy some nice new RAM for the holoday weekend.

My question to you is will the RAM work? Is this a problem with my mobo? Is the proc only compatible with certain RAM?

You should be able to edit the ram speeds in the bios. Set them to 333 and all sticks should work.
