hey guys my mobo nb is passively cooled and gets to around 72*C
everytime i take the motherboard out i like to change the as5, this time when i took it off the paste was an awful brown burnt color.
also when i tried to put it back on i discovered one the plastic pins that hold the cooler in place had its sticky out bit (the bit that holds it underneath the mobo) brittley break off.

its hard to replace as the cooler is slimly under the gpu, so no taller make would fit.

so no i have no way to attach the cooler back to the mobo.

can anyone think of idea to mount it(i know its hard to visualize i can take pics...but its hard)

i was thinking if i get the adhesive as5? or possibly thermal tape. tell me what you think

also if any one can suggest a slim cooler that will fit under my gpu

Edit - the actual height of the cooler is 1 cm!

The "Adhesive AS5" is definitely one way to go. Just remember...its PERMANENT. Which means if that doesn't keep your temperatures down...you're SOL. How about just finding a beat up old motherboard and stealing a clip off of its chipset cooler....and just replacing the clip?

Otherwise a new cooler might help out some as well, but I couldn't even begin to try to suggest a good one. Never replaced chipset coolers myself.

IMO best way to go is getting a TR HR-05.
