I just recently got my new mobo (MSI K9MM-V) and 2x 1Gb Corsair XMS2 DHX 800mhz and a AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+ once i have inserted everything correctly into my mobo when i goto start it up, i get a beep that is about 1 second long and happens every 2-3 seconds! Please help what is the problem?

Check your instruction manual for post codes/what the meaning of led's and sounds from MoBo are.

have got to love MSI...
Tried googling your problem? swapping the ram into different slots/using only one stick? maybe different harddrive? etc etc

![]() i googled it and it came with some forums about how you need to push the ram in nice and hard, tried it but to no success, my memory could be faulty but it better bloody not be! i have 2 80gb hdd in it and it wont even post! i also found that it wont boot first time with usb mouse/keyboard! overall im p*ssed of to the max ![]()

I hardly doubt faulty memory would setup a situation where both sticks by themselves prevent posting.

Definitely sounds like a memory issue to me. You can try it outside your case, but my fear is that a dimm slot got fried somehow. Have you tried just 1 stick at a time? Long beeps can also mean a psu issue.

i am now exhausted with annoyance, i have tried single sticks, removed my graphics card, plugged in only 1 hdd, and almost everything else under are bloody moon. i do however have a 350w spare psu, should i give that a go, my current 400w one has something loose inside it :s
