Hi there,
I've got this board and have just started overclock my phenom 9850BE on it. I've noticed however that there is no option to set the FSB:RAM ratio. This is a question I think only owners of this board or its wifi brother will be able to answer. There is a single option to set the ram clock speed, it has 3 settings: Auto: Runs off the spd. Limit: This is supposed to limit the ram speed. From what I can see the ratio is set automatically. However when I set this to 800MHZ( it seems to go off the effective speed for DDR ram) It will just keep the 1:2 ratio and I can keep on increasing my bus speed and that ram speed will just keep on going... Manual: Your supposed to be able to set the ram speed I think. But it doesn't give the speed I set it to. ( I know you can't set a specific speed, but the mobo is supposed to pick a multiplier for you that will give a speed closest to what you pick e.g 667,800 etc.) I was wondering is there any way to manually set the FSB:RAM ratio with this board? The bios version I'm using is the 1002 rev. Thanks in advance!

you should be overclocking intel, not amd
__________________![]() AMD doesnt have 'fsb' You set your ram on 'dividers', so like ddr 533/667/800 then you OC your cpu as you raise the 'reference clock', the ddr goes up as well. For example, a reference clock of 256, cpu multi of 13, and set to ddr 800, will run your cpu at 3328mhz, and your ram at around 950 (I think), there is a chart around here somewhere which explains it. there is no way to actually 'set' a specific speed, or lock the ram to 800 or whatever. Its a quesiton just about any amd overclocker can answer ![]()

That's okay, I understand all the intricacies of overclocking this proc and where all the relevant clocks originate from. I'm too lazy to go writing out 'reference clock' every time :-) sorry bout that.
What I'm trying find out is where the ratio or divider selector is on this boards bios? or if there even is one? The options I listed before are the only options in my bios that relate to the refclock:ram ratio or divider.

you set the ram to manual. Then you go into I believe the 'chipset' menu and it should now have unlocked a few options such as timing, maybe speed too.

u had it when u were talking about the "limit" and "manual" settings 4 the ram speed. it's like this...
__________________setting your ram at 800 will take whatever multiplier ur running and divide it by 2 setting your ram at 667 will take whatever multiplier ur running and divide it by 1.66 setting your ram at 533 will take whatever multiplier ur running and divide it by 1.33 setting your ram at 400 will take whatever multiplier ur running and divide it by 1 a multi of 13 with ram set at 800 will give u a memory multi of 7 (it rounds up anything higher than 0.1, if it's say 6.02, it'll b a 6.) that help?

I have to say one thing about this board is it is one of the better boards out there, but for OCing, not really the best, most I have been able to get out of my 6400+ is 3.4 without crashing

yeah well thats cuz the 6400+ is a piss poor overclocker. Its overclocked to begin with. All the 6400+ is, would be an overclocked 6000+. I saved like $100, got a 5600+ and oc'd it to 3.4 and laughed :P
