Default Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 Motherboard Memory Voltage

How do you change the memory voltage on this card? I can change with software but can't really seem to figure int out in the BIOS.

Thanks in advance.

I have read somewhere that in gigabytes you have to pus like control+f1 or something while in the bios to unlock extra options.

Ctrl-F1 when you enter BIOS brings up an extra OC'ing category. This is where memory and all voltages are set.

Gigabyte needs to put this on the front of the mobo box in bold print. There isn't a day that goes by when someone doesn't ask this question.

Here is the answer from Gigabyte Support. Was thinking of doing this myself but need to make sure the default is 1.8v dont wanna burn out me memory!

"mother board bios memory voltage setting is base on 1.8v ( default voltage ), please check current model memory voltage spec if it's higher then 1.8v go in bios under M/B intelligent tweaker memory voltage control item adjust memory voltage to match memory voltage needs .
for example : current memory is 2.2v go in bios M/B intelligent tweaker on memory voltage control item change to +0.4v ( 1.8v + 0.4v = 2.2v ) this will match the current model memory voltage spec ."

The default is 1.8 on both of my Gigabyte boards. So, their support is correct, if that's your question.

Keep in mind, if you aren't overclocking the memory, don't change the voltage at all. And if you are only overclocking it a little, try upping the voltage slowly.

Hey, what's up? I'm new to the forum, but I have this mobo, and I also have Crucial Ballistix ram. The ram calls for 2.2v, but in the bios I can only raise the stock setting (1.8v) by up to .375v, giving a total of 2.175v. Usually I don't have any problems at all, but sometimes when I am playing games, the game will crash. Giving me a message of couldn't access memory. Does anyone know of any fix or a way to increase the voltage for the memory further. I don't really wanna buy new ram.

...I haven't flashed the bios, and would prefer not to if I don't have to. Although I read the notes for each bios patch and none of them mentioned my problem anyway.

are you running it at 1066 or 800? I would try underclocking it to 800mhz and i think it needs less voltage but i do not know. I heard somewhere that its better to keep the voltage lower just as thiussat said. If it works dont change it.

Welcome to OCN bmoneyf4i

What kind of Crucial Ballistix memory are you running? Can you tell us the model number so we could look up the proper specifications/requirements? Have you performed a diagnostic on your memory with memtest to make sure the memory is not faulty/failing? Does this problem occur only in games or when your just idle in Windows? Have you done any stability testing lately?

Good luck

I am running it at 800mhz, and I haven't run memtest on it but I did run quicktech pro's memory test and it passed. Generally, it doesn't have a problem at idle, just when I'm gaming. The part number is BL2KIT12864AA804. Thanks for any help or advice.
