Angry Tried flashing BIOS...now board won't POST...HELP

I'm having a problem with my sig rig. The board is a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H. I tried updating the BIOS to F5 via GIgabyte's @BIOS software which allows you to update the BIOS while in the operating system. I've used this program many times and never had a problem. Well, this time, while updating the BIOS (the bar at the bottom said erasing flash memory) the damn program locked up and I couldn't get it to do anything. I let it sit for a long while but it wouldn't unlock. I had to close the program and tried again, same result. I reluctantly rebooted the computer, and sure enough, nothing. No beeps, no posting, just a blank screen, can't get it to do anything. All settings were at default (no overclocking), and I've tried resetting the CMOS. I'm thinking the BIOS has been erased. How can I get this thing back up and running. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I need my computer back, I'm running Linux on my PS3 right now and it's just not the same, but at least I have that as a "back-up rig." THANKS!

You corrupted the BIOS chip. You need to RMA it.

When you get it back, use Qflash. @bios can mess up bad.

*sigh* you may be right. I have a spare 690G board I can use, but I was wanting to stay away from a downgrade, especially since that board doesn't overclock for crap. I may just use this as an excuse to upgrade in a couple weeks and just use my PS3 until then...unless anyone can come up with anything

Unfortunately your situation is an age old story. A failed bios upgrade/downgrade/change means RMA. To be honest I have never heard of one success story...

The only decent thing is that when I RMAed my mobo gigabyte does a pretty good job getting it back ASAP. (About 1.5-2 weeks from ship to return.

Yeah, its pretty much borked.

Had a similar issue with a dvdrom. Managed to swap the firmware out from one from a different company, then back to the original.

REPS all around, thanks for the info. I'm just going to get another 8800GT (since they're so cheap now) and a SLI board of some sort. Not sure if I want to go E8400 + 750i or get a 750a or 590 SLI board. Any advice?
