I currently have 3 Gigs of PC2-5300 at 333MHz and was thinking of upgrading to 2GB of PC2-6400 at 800MHz (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227139) do you guys think I'll see much of a difference, I'm also going to be upgrading to a Brisbane 3.0GHz processor

You don't notice much of a difference in the speed of RAM. The only way that you would see a difference is if your RAM is keeping your CPU from overclocking any higher!

however your latencies will drop with faster ram. And to answer the question you would be better off getting 4gb (2x2)

I'll run my DDR2 800 into the ground...I don't even over clock it and the only reason I have it is because it was the first DDR2 memory I ever bought. CPU MHz is every thing. Most mother boards these days let you put a divider on your memory so it can still run at its rated speed and still overclock your CPU.
You could probally get by with what you have untill DDR2 memory is phased out. Though I would suggest getting some more memory similar to what you have so you can run it in dual channel. I don't know what mother board you have but I am sure that any AM2 MB will support dual channel memmory. Dual channel memory will give a system a slight boost...but still nothing great. however, memory has gotten so cheap these days I see no reason not to.
