Not necessarily.
The first thing I'd try is reset everything to default settings, then see if you still get BSoDs. If you do, it would be helpful if you could get the error code that Windows spits out with every BSoD. This would give you a place to start your troubleshooting process. Hope this helps! ![]()

krazieaznboi, did you get the numerical code too (I'm assuming Vista has a similar 10-digit error code to WinXP)? It often looks like: 0x0000008e (that's one I've seen recently here at work).

okay, so i just got a BSOD but i forgot to turn off automatic restart so i didnt get a chance to see the error code. now my computer is stuck in a restart loop. the only way i can turn on my computer is to reset CMOS but after resetting CMOS and if i want to restart my computer or shut it down, the next time i try to turn on my computer it gets stuck in a restart loop again. so basically everytime i try to turn on my computer i have to reset CMOS.

Oh wow. Sounds fairly serious.
![]() This requires some fairly in-depth research. I'll check back when I find something promising.

krazieaznboi, your instinct might be correct here. I suppose it's possible that the SATA drivers now don't match because of the flashed BIOS changing the SATA type on the board (am I understanding things correctly here?).
Perhaps you can update your SATA drivers? By the way, I hope you have any critical data files backed up during all these troubleshooting steps. It's always a good idea to back up, but especially when dealing with storage-related issues.
