Default Noob question:what kind of ram to get for dfi lanparty ?

ok im trying to build my own system pretty soon im curious whats some good ram to start off with ? id like to start off with a gig . im not exactly sure what type to get though so if somebody can give me a link to newegg thatd be helpful. i kinda eventually want to put it up to 3 gig . is that worth doing or is it overkill?

Muy overkill...and newegg.com is down at the moment.

With the lanparty, you want 2x512 sticks of PC3200 or faster if you plan to overclock.

If you plan on keeping it at PC3200 speeds, you're going to want low latency. OCZ, Ultra, Geil, Kingston HyperX, Corsair, Mushkin...you have many many choices.

Try www.pricewatch.com to search for system memory, you can narrow the search by entering keywords, or even by scrolling down and looking at certain manufacturers.

wow!!! 3gb! holy ****, can i have some of yer money. lol joking!

anyways, um try finding some OCZ EL Platinum Edition Rev.2 <--- great ram even if u dont want to overclock it (stock speed is PC3200) other then that some Crucial Ballistix is good ram, Kingston hyperX ram. anything of that nature.

i've found that OCZ on this website www.vibecomputers.com it's canadian so maybe you' can save some money on the exchange.
