Anyone have this board? I've had it for a while now and upgraded everything (budget PC) and it kinda sucks on the OC as i can't get stable past 3.28Ghz on my x2 5400+ BE.
i used to have an intel 1.8 p4 (not sure series) on a Asus p4p800DE board and clocked that thing up to 2.5 easy a few years ago so i'm scratching my head here. and if anyone knows much about the xfx 8600gt 512mb ddr3 for OC that'd be great too. shoot a pm on that one Thx

I have a board that is similar and all I can say is it's rare to see an amd chip OC stable past 3.2ghz. What is your vcore set too? Is your ram overclocked? What are your load temps?

Load temp is at 52c but it's a brisbane core so possibly at 58ish. I'm somewhat new to OC'ing and am not sure how to set OC for my ram. The voltage on the ram is 2.1 and vcore (cpu voltage?) is at 1.52.
how to i set the OC for the ram? settings are: x14 multiplier 234 multiplier 938 HT Link CPU-Z says ram is : 469.1mhz 5.0, 5, 5, 15, 23 and command rate is at 2T the only thing that i can change for ram is whether its 400, 800 etc, and anywhere between 3T-6T and add +.3v which sets it at 2.1 (which ram is rated for.) thanks for your reply.

Please read over the sticky provided by Durch AM2 Overclocking Guide
I don't know if you know this but right when the bios loads hit Ctrl + F1 this will open up your overclocking options fully. Right now your memory is OC'ed that is if it is 800mhz memory which I'm guessing it is. I'm banking on my bios (ga-m57sli-s4) being fairly similar too yours. After you hit the Ctrl F1 go too "Advanced Chipset Features" from there go to "Dram Configuration". Then you will see a setting called "Set Memory Clock" set that too manual. Then there will also be a setting called "Memory Clock" set that too 667 (for now until we know the full OC of your cpu). When it's time to OC your ram then you can set it to 800mhz and the fsb will raise the dram frequency.I would recommend bumping your ddr2 voltage control up a notch as well.Your temps -How is the airflow in your case? -Try an hsf reseat -What temp program are you using to monitor temps? I would recommend HWMonitor or CoreTemp -Try to keep that brisbane at around 1.5 although you are probably ok at 1.52vcore. Trying upping your voltages by .1 in bios on your chipset/pcie voltage, cpu HT-Link Voltage, and HT-Link Voltage (so you can lower cpu vcore for stability) Also there are couple of timings within the memory settings that "The Duke" knows about that can give you extra stability I think it's called something like TRFC hopefully somebody can fill you in on that. One Last question: What Stability tests are you using? I would recommend Prime95 or Orthos. Hope that helps good luck

I am using CoreTemp for my temps and using Orthos to stress test. As for OC'ing in the bios i have already unlocked it and there isn't much that it does to help me out there. voltages can only be increased by +.3 in .1 increments except for the cpu. just wasn't sure if this was a good board or not as i've OC'd better in the past with other boards.
