So I've heard you can't really go into the BIOS of most OEM machines because they don't want you messing with all the settings.

I want to oc my 4200 since I heard it can hit around 2.7ghz easily on air.

Does anyone have any idea on how to unlock the BIOS on my FIC K2BC51?

I heard you can do some actual physical mod to the board?

ohh... and i tried software oc with ClockGen, but it seems to make my machine reboot. it let me apply it at 2.5ghz. i played crysis for like 5 mins, and then it just rebooted out of nowhere.

i see clockgen automatically increasing the cpu, fsb, and memory. but shouldn't i also edit the htt multiplier?

I don't really know any ways of unlocking them, but the oem boards that comes in a brand machine usually isn't meant to be overclocked

They are most likely laser locked which means, your screwed, sorry but that is the truth.

for less than $100 you can get a nice motherboard that will overclock well. I recommend going that route.

One of the things that OEM's do, is build the PC around a very limiting proprietary motherboard. If you get this replaced, (might need to get a new PSU) you'll be golden.
