Default need help with front panel connectors

im almost finished building my pc, but something went wrong, it wont turn on, and the only things i know that makes my pc not turning on is because of the the powersupply or the front panel connectors (turn on switch, reset switch etc) powersupply wont turn on, but im thinking it wont turn on because the pc is not on. so im thinking its the switches. im not sure if i plugged in the right way into the motherboard, but all i know is that your suppose to connect : PowerLED, PowerSW, H.D.D led, and reset SW into the motherboard. the mobo im using is dfi lanparty nf4 sli-dr. oh and the powersupply im using is ocz powerstream 520 watts.

here are some question i need an asnwer to =(
-the poweruspply came with 2 VGA/H.D.D connectors and im guessing its a power cable for hard drives? which type?
-What is SATA, because when i bought this motherboard, it has 8 SATA slots on the motherboard and cable connectors for it. but i dont understand what is it used for. is it required?
-EDIT: whats a jumper? =(

thanks in advance! hope people will reply soon =(

The vga/hdd cables are shielded cables for hard drive or video cards. They are standard 4 pin molex plugs.
SATA is a type of hard drive...you can use it or not. SATA drives are faster than IDE drives.
A jumper is a 2 or 3 pin plug that has a removable bridge to close the pins. You would remove or install jumpers for different options on the board or resetting cmos.

most likely you have an IDE drive...it should take the hdd cable and a 4 pin molex for power. the vga/hdd cables OCZ has are special 4 pin molex power plugs with shielding on them. Made to use on your hard drive or vid card. It can be used on anything as a 4 pin molex also. some larger vid cards, 6800 and up take a 4 pin molex for power. you can use the cable marked vga/hdd for anything you want really, as it is just a glorified power plug.

The 2 pinns that you connect to ON/OFF switch for the case.
If you just tap those 2 terminals with a screwdrive to turn it on!
That will eliminate a bad ON/OFF switch!

You would have received a small manual with the DFI MB - Quick Setup Guide.

Make sure that you have all 4 power connectors on the MB installed.
24 pin main power
4 pin +12v
FDD & molex connector

(see nF4 FAQ for picture of page 16 for diagram)

Page 17 has the pin layout of the connectors

Remove all these for now.

There are two small push button switches on the MB - Bottom RH corner (see page 8)

Once all power cables are installed - prees the bottom one this is the power switch - the one above it is a reset switch

What happens?

Moldex is a general term... its a plastic mold that wire connectors are incerted into!
There are many types, 20 or 24 pin for the mother board, various 4 pin like for the HDs CD-ROMs, there should be a place for a moldex connectors on you mother board that need 1 like the HD uses and 1 like the floppy uses and there is also a square 4 pin to incert too!
