Lightbulb MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum

What do you guys think of this board:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813130161

I'm jumping up to a Quad from my sig rig. My MSI K9 Neo board has been faithful to me and runs nice. Never broke 3ghz though

The K9N2 SLI looks like a nice setup....no?

Thoughts?

That looks good keith but your 8600gt will be holding you back so what about a gpu upgrade at the same time. The Evga 9600gt n862 is a nicely oc'd factory card and it plays my Farcry CoD at high settings.

THanks G-Byte. I know the 8600 can't cut it anymore. But I can get a cheap 2nd one, $30. So I'll probably end up sticking with that for now.

My christmas money will go towards the board and cpu

Do you definitly need to go SLI? Because 790GX boards are super cheap. And they overclock very well.

Well Keith, for a quick fix sling two of them should get you a better experience but can they be sli'd? When I was researching my nvidia setup I read just a little bit about the 86's and not much good was said about them compare to deals/prices for nextgen gpus so I grabbed this 96gt to sli down the road.

But then I got a nice $1k for my 50th bday from my family so price was not much of a problem. The biggest cost was my lcd, then the mobo but I had the drives already and got a deal on the case. My total cost is sitting a bit above 1200 right now but will change when I get a better card. Before this build I went cheap, $300/400 for a 2nd gen below what was out there. Not this time and everything will last me at least a year. Some longer like the lcd, drives, psu.
