Default The Shuttle is in.

After burning my abit nf7-s v2 (my fault, fan connector backwards). I decided to go with a cheaper shuttle motherboard because I'm thinking of upgrading to 64bit by the first quarter of next year.

I also ordered 512mb of Patriot something PC4000 memory to go with it.

I finally got it today and put it all together, when I first turned it on, I freaked out because I wasnt getting anything on the monitor, after a few mins, I decided to push down on my vid card and that fixed it.

The settings in the bios are fairly user friendly and I think the only downside to this mobo is that the ram voltage is limited to 2.7.

I currently have it running @ 233FSB x 10 and 1.7vcore. For some reason it feels alot faster than my old setup @ 220x11.5.

I havent really fined tuned the OC, It's too late... I'll see how far I can push it tomorrow and report back to you guys.

So far, I'm very please with this board, and it's performance for the price.

How are you getting the FSB up to 233? Mine only goes up to 200. Is it the ram thats holding me back or the mobo? Also, how do people increase the FSB by like 10? Mine only increases from 133, 166, 200. I would guess that that's a mobo restriction?

Your ram could be holding you back @ 200 but even if it's really bad it should still overclock a few mhz... You might need to raise your RAM voltage in order for the ram to work at the higher speed.

You have to set everything to expert so it'll let you pick whatever fsb you want. Also keep your FSB:RAM ratio 1:1.

my ram is only at 220 cuz i could probably push mine more, but for some reason im getting errors priming. I have deduced it is the proccesor that is causing these errors, and im not sure why. I dont really care cuz its been up for 4 days and no problems, it just wont prime. Anyway how are your temps? I think the shuttle maybe be reporting incorrect temps, or it could just be my mobo that is jacked up.

Ok, so raise by RAM voltage by like .1? And whats this about the FSB:RAM ratio 1:1? This would mean if I up FSB by 30 (just picking numbers off the top of my head) then I need to up RAM by 30?

I installed a new Heatsink and fan ( AeroCool HT-101 ).

I'm getting temps of 34 idle at these speeds... Thats really good, I was around 42 idle on my old setup (same cpu/ Volcano 12) and with alot more noise.

Yeah, when you have it at 1:1 the FSB speed always matches the ram.

About the Ram voltage thats all you can go up... Stock is 2.6v, and max on the board is 2.7.

those are some good temps, im gonna buy some more AS5 cuz i lost mine, and reapply. If that doesnt bring my temps down im either gonna assume my temps are off [when i touch parts of the heatsink when it is running it doesnt feel hot at all, and also my other OC'd 2700+ (hot as hell) is running 38C in the same room] or upgrade heatsinks to something thermalright.
