This way it wouldn't hang when restarting from the bios. as far as the temps are concerned I'm perfectly aware of the fact, that they are way too high. But as I wrote I can't really believe they are real. I guess I have to buy an infra red thermometer and measure myself. I was just curious if anybody else of you guys here considered the read out values faulty.

@diegolaz
I tried installing an Ninja Plus rev. B (from 2007) on the board, but heatpipes interfere with the first slot RAM module, however I dunno if newer revisions of the Ninja still make trouble
Yes... there is so much difference in temps that sound like the messuaring part is wrong...

about the Ninga tip, thanks! I was about to get a Ninja 2 so I'll review the dimensions first!

Ninja Plus Rev B---> Heatsink Dimensions: 110 x 110 x 150mm

Ninja 2 -----------> Heatsink Dimensions: 116 x 116 x 152mm 4.57 x 4.57 x 5.98in

so there is no way that is fitting the A79A-s??

If you have two DIMMs installed and use the yellow slots only it might work. And maybe it also fits with four DIMMs, it depends on how far the heatpipes go sidewards.

That's my old Ninja

That's Ninja 2

Heatpipes go quite differently, so in the end you'll know it if you try...

I am using Xigmatek S1283 and it blocks the first two ram slots since I am using a thicker and taller ram.

yeah, them ram slots are a bit too close to the cpu socket. but nirianto, if you use only the 3rd and 4th ram slot, doesn't that give you a single channel ram configuration? I'm just not sure about that right now...

No its still dual channel. My xiggy blocks first two, so i put my ram in before i put the HS on. just use low profile if you want more then 2 sticks.

I thought there is no significant performance difference between ganged vs unganged (I think with AMD they use the term "ganged" for dual-channel). Corect me if I am wrong.

I find that hard to believe, but it could be possible. It just seems like when you have two sticks being accessed as one you would get an increase in performance. I look at dual channel and single channel as raid 0 vs no raid. Correct me if my thinking of dual channel is wrong.

at least Mugen (version 1) seems to be compatible.... but other coolers from Scythe don't seem to show yet.... this site is good to keep an eye on:

This shows a list of boards compatible or uncompatible...

http://www.scythe-eu.com/forum/mainb...lity-list.html

Other coolers (A79A-s does not apear on other lists)
http://www.scythe-eu.com/forum/mainboard-compatibility/

But it seams that with my OCZ Reaper it will be difficult to find a silten cooler.....
