Then I stand corrected but then why do all the specs say AM3 and not AM2+/AM3 like all the other CPU's that do both?

Forget about the specs. AM3 is AM3 is AM3. See? Any AM3 processor fits into an AM2(+) board and supports DDR2 memory. How many cores and which cache sections are disabled does not matter for the downwards compatibility. It might however hold true that a motherboard needs a BIOS update to fully support newer CPUs.

is anyone using this board with a 955? The board says AM3 compatible....but does it "cripple" any features/performance?

It should run just fine and I don't believe that it will hinder and performance.

ok thanks, it's just that when they say something like AM3 Compatible it sounds to me like "u can try it.... but you won't take advantage out of it"....

Should get this board today. I'll post up here if I have questions on the overclocking and what to do.

They dont fix any known bugs like cold boot prob, even create more bugs. At default setting of P08, my X3 720 runs at 1600 MHz !!!

Am I missing something? Looking at my current BIOS, which is P07, it's dated 3/6/09 yet when I go at the link for P08 and look at the list of previous BIOS updates P07 is listed as 5/11/09. I updated to P07 using the FOX LiveUpdate supplied with my board and it doesn't say there is a new one. What gives? Is this the right BIOS for sure?

Hey guys, got everything going today, and I ran into a brick wall.

Where do I change the CPU Multi at?

I'm on BIOS P07.

I can't download P08, nor P09.
