Ok thanks Kairi. It seems stable now that I switched to defaults. I got kicked out of sins of a solar empire before and i was concerned that it was going to BSOD me every time i play a game. I ran overdrive stress test 4 times and it did not crash on me. Is that a good stress indicator that the system IS actually stable?

Empire total war is coming and this thing has got to be ready!

Thanks for the tip. I've heard the bios on these is a little overwhelming and I'm new to oc'ing so I'll definitely check that out.

I had a biostar board before and it bsod 100 times so I RMAed it back and got this board but used the same hard drive. Do I have to format the HDD before putting in a clean install of vista?
You will need to at least uninstall the old mobo drivers and utilities, and install the Foxconn drivers. If you re-install Windows, which is suggested but not necessary, you don't need to format the drive drive first.
As far as stability testing, AMD Overdrive is a good indicator. I use Prime95 and Orthos to see if any errors occur and to check load temps. OCCT is also a good proggy. Real world testing is always the best indicator of instability.

Phenom II X3 720 w/ this board and it comes out to around $210(AR). Very similar to the combo spaceballsrules got with the 940 IIRC. I'm pumped.
Yeah, Newegg is desperate to get rid of these boards lately. They have had special and combos on them from months now.
Just so you know, the board I got was already flashed to the latest BIOS, so no need to mess with that. Just plug the CPU in and hit the Power button
It's an amazing tweaker's board. I got lost in the BIOS myself, so use AMD Overdrive, as Kairi has already suggested.

yes it randomly test cores for stability and computing..i rather have it tested this way rather than OCCT for the reason that its hot in here where i am and i'm just gonna torture my chip to death by doing so..

phenom test bts fail? wth is that. How about a multiplier fix foxconn? I'm tired of having to use a combination of letters and numbers to get my desired multi!
