Well I have never done an AMD build before I have always been sort of an Intel kind of guy.
__________________Want to turn my main pc into an AMD Phenom II System. I want to get the 940 BB because well, I'm gunna OC the hell outa the little guy ![]() But when it comes to AMD boards I am clueless ![]() So what is a good chipset to get (I don't NEED onboard vid, and don't plan on using Crossfire [I don't even plan to buy an ATi] but if it has it ohh well) Also I do want an AMD chipset, and the board has to be a good overclocker. The board also needs to support DDR2 1066 And I will not buy Biostar I have always used ASUS and love there stuff but am willing to try other name brands (DFI, Gigabyte) Any ideas? Thanks Jim

I have built 6 computer systems based around the ASUS M3a79-T Deluxe and I am constantly pleased with the results. Its a very nice board, easy to overclock and has all the features an overclocker would want.
My only complaint is that it never goes on sale, rock solid at 188.00 oh well. Paired with some good DDR2 1066 and a Phenom 940 you will easily reach 3.6 Ghz even on air. Ive done it with Xigmatek 1283 and TRUE, with stock cooler you should expect around 3.4 stable. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...39&Tpk=m3a79-t Good luck

I have been asking all over in multiple forums for a board like this. THANK YOU!!!
I have a question though, The specs show 6-SATA ports, but I see none. It looks like the board is stamped "SATA" next to those 3 red blocks. Is that them? If so, can they only be plugged in externally?
