Did u ever get this straightened out? Im having a hard time understanding it. The way AMD words the limitation is poor, as its very confusing.
I just got a phenon 11 x4 920 with the limitation on ram speed, and i have 4 memory slots available. It came with 2x2GB of 800Mhz DDR2 , with the other two slots empty. does this mean I cant run 1600Mhz x 4 slots, as it will only utilize one slot of 1066 per channel? What happens to the ram in the second slot? is it like its not even there at all? Last edited by mach1219 : 09-11-09 at 01:42 AM |

Just don't buy 1066 for AM2+ systems... stick with DDR2 800 and tighter timings. AMD systems will always respond better to tighter timings as opposed to higher memory frequency.

^^Yeah, I get asked by that alot. AM2+ only supports 2 sticks of 1066 memory. Like other experts stated, if you populate all 4 1066, then it will rever 800 each. Its not the mobo or anything. Just CPU limitation, that's how it is.
