Default CPU limitation? Limited DIMM per channel?

I was checking out the ASUS M4A78 PRO mobo and this is what the spec says for memory.

"(Due to AMD CPU limitation, DDR2 1066 is supported by AM2+/AM3 CPU for one DIMM per channel only)"

What does this exactly mean?

There is 2 channels on your motherboard, meaning that if you don't have a AM2+/AM3 processor, you can only put a single DDR2 1066 in a single channel, so you can have a max of two DDR2 1066s per slot. But if you have an AM2+/AM3 Processor, it shouldn't matter. You can tell the difference between the channels by the different color. Each channel is composed of 2 RAM sticks.

it means that you will have difficulty running 1066 x 4 ram slots. you need an AM2+ cpu to run 1066mhz memory natively. meaning that you can either run 2 x 1gb 1066 or 2 x 2gb 1066mhz memory.

You could, but it would be a waste really as the 1066's would downclock to 800

If they support it, yes. But I'm quite sure they don't.
