Wow thats very good. I got mine to boot with 4th core and it was stable but the problem with my 720 was that sometimes the computer did not boot. I have the oldest version F1 i think so updating it should help me out.

Nope, not true.
I had Gigabyte send me F5 and they told me F5a came AFTER F5.
There is no difference between F5 and F5a at all.

I'm sorry to say it, but the date shows otherwise; F5a came before F5.

Date has NOTHING to do with it and also there is NOTHING different in F5!
F5 does everything that F5A does

I was never questioning the difference between the two, only which came first and what proof do you have other than what the CSR or tech "told you?"

Hey Mikecdm, Are you happy with the EP45-UD3P/Q6600 combo? I'm on the fence right now between your set-up and the AMD set-up discussed in this thread with the Phenom II 720 BE on the Gigabyte UD4P. My main concern is that I don't own any AM2/AM2+ CPU's so if the Phenom II 720 BE won't post or even if it posts but isn't recognixed, I don't want to deal with it.

Did the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P work with the Q6600 "Out of the Box"? Can anyone confirm if the UD4P will post with and recognize the 720 BE "Out of the Box"?

I'm been back and forth between the new AM3's or an intel Quad for weeks now. My main concern is getting a Mobo/CPU that will work together w/o needing a CPU swap/ Bios Flash. Thanks!!

The UD4P will recognize the X3 720 out of the box.

That's really good to know. Hope I'm not thread stealing. Can anyone confirm if the Noctua NH-C12P cooler will clear the DIMMS on the UD4P? Lastly what brand/speed RAM is best suited for the X3 720/ X2 550 on the UD4P? Stability/Performance in 64bit 7 being the objective. Is the Corsair Dominator a top choice? :Thanks!
