Does the DFI LP DK 790FXB-M3H5 support core unlocking? Will it boot with an x2 550 on the stock bios? Will it play nice with OCZ Platinum AMD Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P1600LVAM4GK? And lastly is this an overall good board? I'm thinking about getting it because I have some extra money and the price just dropped a lot.

It's a solid board packed with features. Their RMA does suck however, but Kamikaze here on the OCN forums swears by them, and I have personally used one and liked it a lot.

For $140, you can't go wrong; it's a high-end board.
It should work fine with that ram, no worries.

It also supports core unlocking (ACC) and since it is an AM3 board, it is designed with only AM3 CPUs supported meaning the 550 should boot fine in it.

So Dopamin3, how is your build going? I've been hesitating too about this board and the same CPU.

Great board. Golden CPU. It does 3.7ghz with 1.376v with four cores. Memory is in RMA but should be back anytime soon. I'm borrowing 1 stick of my friend's dominator ram.
