I'm running a rebel's haven mod bios with the HT link fix, works great! It's as simple as enabling an option in the bios. Flash at your own risk although I've never had a problem. Follow the directions on their site, it's easy.

Hi guys, I know this thread is a couple weeks old but I just Joined the site, thought i'd join the thread. Picked up a TA790GX 128M a week ago, it's been running great, 3.5 Ghz @ 1.328 Vcore with my Phenom II 940 BE. I know it will do higher but don't want to push the vcore until I get a heatsink on the MOSFETs. Have a Thermalright HD-09U type 2 on the way for that.

nice heatsink. I just used some thermaltake ram sinks.
Welcome to the site!

I wanted plenty of insurance that I wouldn't blow the MOSFETS. I want to get 4 Ghz stable out of this chip on air.

I actually had the chip up to 4 Ghz but unstable using an Asus M3A using software overclocking. but that board was designed for 95 watt chips, I wanted a board I could adjust the voltage and clocks in the BIOS. Saw the TA790GX 128MB in the local CompUSA and bought it last week. It's already running this chip at 3.5 @ 1.328 v-core where the M3A required 1.36 V-core to do the same. I'm sure I can do it since this board has better Ocing options.

There's no guarantee the 4th core will unlock. It's either a hit or miss. Depends on the chip really, and the BIOS version you're running. But in BIOS, go to the Advanced section / CPU Configuration, and set Advanced Clock Calibration to Auto. Then see if you can boot into Windows.
