It all started about a week ago, my brand new card reader came in the mail. I plugged everything in, and when I booted up my computer *drumroll* NOTHING. The screen wont turn on automatically, I turned it on manually and it said no signal. I removed things one at a time, and it seemed to work after I removed the firewire plug from the header on my motherboard. I tried booting up again and it worked fine. Then I restarted my computer and it was broke again. I removed the card reader and it still wouldnt work. I took out my graphics card and put it back in, to see if the problem was with it. Nothing. It (the card reader) was a particularily cheap product, of a brand I have never heard of. The USB plugs were not polarized so it was possible to put them in wrong, but I followed the other USB plug plugged in, and even looked up the pin layout to make sure everything was right. There was only one other thing that could have caused all of this. The eSATA. Do you need a special eSATA port on your mobo, or does a regular sata work fine? I put it in a regular sata spot. I really need help. I can't figure out what the problem is. Man those chang sons of *****es screwed me right in the ass.
Oh by the way I have a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P motherboard. Luckily it's only $85 if I need to replace it. Here is the card reader I got: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820162019 Here it says the brand is Koutech, but on the box the brand was "SOHOUSB."

Sounds like you have the Sata plugged into the right place
__________________http://www.koutech.com/proddetail.asp?linenumber=389 I'll see if I can find a manual It may just be bad, and shorting out so your motherboard isn't booting. Try un plugging each of it's connections one at a time and booting it up. once you find the connection that is causing the fail to boot I would RMA it. EDIT: Here's a PDF manual with more detailed install instructions. Looks like there's not much more to it. I'd ID the bad component and then call newegg for a replacement. http://www.koutech.com/proddetail.asp?linenumber=389
