FF post code is the bios trying to initialize the cpu if your board uses an AMI bios. If the bios chip is out of wack or corrupted it wont be able to initialize the cpu and continue the post process. Have you tried a forced flash using a floppy drive(non-usb). If you're planning on rma-ing anyway it might not be a bad idea as a last resort.

Shadow_419, do you also think a hotflash may work? I believe another motherboard is required for this though. It's too bad the manufacture isn't closer. I'd try and go for a bios replacement...

Hot flashes are only good with removable bios chips. Most boards these days have soldered bios chips.

The board just arrived in France 2 days ago.

Even with Spain and France being neighbours. 21 Euro postage. I'll admit I haven't posted anything for a while but I thought that was steep. Pixmania have sent it to Sapphire (up to 21 days for them to asses it) and I'm just waiting on the yes or no. I don't know why I couldn't send it to sapphire direct.

I'm hoping the return trip's going to be quicker. I'm also curious to see if they send the same board back. I'll know, as th NB heatsink had a hair line crack. Found that when I changed the TIM.

Ok Pixmania sent me a replacement Sapphire AM3 board. Nice upgrade, and I would have kept it, but the price of DDR 3 made me send it back.
If it’s inside seven days they pick it up UPS from your door which I thought was good. They even refunded my postage on the first return.
Anyway, board finally arrived, ( new ) Working a treat , I went and turned ACC to auto and it unlocked the fourth core.

This is on the factory bios. (Phoenix - Award BIOS v 6.00PG) The old board wouldn’t let me unlock, it was on an updated bios from Sapphire .
I’m getting 0c temps in CPUZ on all four cores.

I'll have to run some stability tests tomorrow and see if that fourth core's stable.

Mr soft, glad to hear everything is working out

The 0C temperature reading is normal for unlocked processors. From my experience (reading and research) the "cpu temp" is not much higher than the "core temperatures" so you may be able to use that as a gauge.

Thanks for the heads up on the temps thlnk3r.

In my haste to get it back up and running, I connected the front USB wrong and fried a 16g Kingston pen drive.

That'll teach me.
