Hi all
I was messing around today underclocking my NB. I lowered the NB voltage from 1.3 to 1.2, I then dropped the CPU to NB voltage a little, now I canīt post. I tried resetting C.mos a couple of times. All the fans turn on and DVD drives running. The display on the MB says FF. The MB booklet just states FF as "Boot" and nothing else. Have I ruined the board ?

That's strange, a CMOS reset should have fixed it. You can also try taking out the battery for a few minutes.
Another thing you can try is booting with 1 memory module.

I took the battery out but only for like ten seconds. Iīll give it another try for a few minutes this time.

Try these steps.
Pressing the power button with the system unplugged and/or switched off will drain any excess power so your system is 100% reset. I've reset my CMOS only to find that it didn't fully reset and doing the above steps fixed it.

Hey thanks for the help guys, I tried it all and still couldīnt get it to post.
Repped up for the usefull help. I sent Sapphire a message explaing the post code displayed on the MB, their reply: " Dear Sir : Please contact your retailer to claim a replacement. Thanks. ". Why am I missing it already like one of my siblings. Hopefully the replacement wil live a bit longer than six months. Thereīll be no gaming for a while with this pent 4 ,geforce MX 440.

Mr soft, why am I not surprised Sapphire responded with that...
Have you tried getting the board to POST with minimal components installed (lower end video card, one stick of memory, no hard drives or optical drives installed ect)? Sorry if it's a little late response. If you sent it off already hopefully you get a replacement soon. Good luck

Itīs my first time dealing with Sapphire and probably the last. In fact itīs my first dead MB, Iīve always owned Gigabyte. I wrote a letter to my retailer explaining, and they have sent me the returns forms (lot of hoops). Itīs crazy I have to send it to France, because thatīs where their base is, and then they are going to send it to Sapphire anyway.

Mr soft, if you have still have the motherboard I'd try a few more things to see if you could get it to POST. The motherboard return itself is probably going to take a while. If you have a loaner machine I guess I won't be that big of deal
![]() Good luck buddy

I still have the MB as Iīm still trying to get the paperwork together. Your right about the repair time , their talking 40 days and that doesnīt include postage. I put together a 7750, ATI 4350 rig for my father in law , so Iīm using his old neglected PC. Old people never clean their rigs, this thing was filthier than my car.
