So in my infinite wisdom i never thought about updating the bios to my motherboard when it killed quite a bit of my hardware
and the USB ports ALL stopped workingBTW the dead usb ports is the only problem that is still ailing the board...i have tested new HDD's/DVD Drive's and everything is working A ok except the USB ports... I just got back from 7 days in the dominican republic and noticed that on my birthday(yay) while i was gone MSI decided to finally respond to a request i sent in(lucky me)...well you can look at the dates for you're self so anyways they responded and now i need to attempt the fix Thing is of course ALL of the USB ports are dead in bios and OS so i should be able to update the bios inside of the OS with the one the rep linked to right? I am pretty sure i can but it has been awhile since i ran the board so...blah it is going to be a long night PS:The photo is heavily edited/erased

They should be...i'd be quite surprised if it was disabled..i never noticed the option and im pretty new to the bios in general but i have reset the CMOS/Defaulted Settings countless times whilst trouble shooting and you would think that would enable it if it was off...
The USB ports only went down after the HDD/DVD crash... Ahhh well i forgot my PSU so i can't be sure of anything tonight Thanks a lot for the post and as soon as i get the board up and running i will be sure to check on that ...maybe i shouldn't have been relying on the Cmos and setting resets?

Ok i just ran it all out on my desk again and made sure the USB option was enabled which it was and the ports still didn't work...did a clear Cmos and it was still enabled so it would have been on no matter what and then tested it again...made sure to boot into both vista and XP but still a no go...will do the bios updating tomorrow IF i can and when i get a PS/2 mouse...

I have updated to the latest Bios via MSI's windows utility and the problem still hasn't been resolved

i think there's something wrong with your new bios or OS... try to reformat and reinstall your OS...

My old bios was working fine before the issue and even after updating it which i just said i did it still does not work...i even connected the USB/case bracket to one of the USB jumpers and in all of those cases it won't even work...it is the hardware This all happened when it killed all of my other hardware and it hasn't worked since...i will just have to RMA it in a few months...i think i will get a new board in before that so no downtime

Yeahp i knew/know...figured i would create my own thread since it didn't seem to be a manufacturer specific problem and no info was in the other thread...

Well, if you've re installed 20 times, cleared cmos 20 times,a nd flashed bios who knows how many times and they STILL dont work, I can safely say theres something on the board fried. Possibly a on-board fuse to protect part of the system when it crashed, maybe there was some sort of power jolt. I would remove the board and look for obvious damage to a circuit.
