You'll probably want to reformat the HD and do a fresh install of the OS.

Going Broke Overclocking

Is a full version or only a setup disk with the files hidden on the emachine HD?
Full version, it should work so long as you have the activation code.

if the cd doesn't work but has the i386 folder then you can use a program called nlite to make your own custom windows install cd that WILL work.

Or just do a system restore after install. Windows takes a snapshot of your current hardware when you install it. You may have to fix that snapshot with a repair.
