How the heck do you remove these plastic pushpins that hold on the backplate?

You supposedly can take them off with pliers but I couldn't.
I clipped mine and used screws instead. Parts needed: 1. 2 - #4-40 screws 3/4" long (length may vary for your application) 2. 2 - #4-40 nuts 3. 2 - insulating washers for screws 4. 2 - 1/4" square plastic screw retainers That was for my 790FX NB. I haven't found a way to take them off though. And I don't have a board to mess with either.

Use needle nose pliers, but put electrical tape around the area, so you don't scratch the PCB.

ya don't be afraid to really squeeze them, no matter how badly you pinch the tip it will still go in and hold (He said to her on their wedding night)

It's really hard to squeeze these pins small enough so that they can go through the hole, even with needle nosed pliers >_<
Kinda like my old mobo's NB pushpins.

judging by the newegg pics it looks like there is actually 2 parts to the pin, a sort of plastic rivet. It looks like you need to push the center pin out (with say a small screwdriver) in order to remove the other part.

Here is a tip: push the pin down on the top side of the board. This way you can see and get a hold of the whole pin on the underside. Makes it a bit easier to take out too.
