I've got my friend over here whispering in my ear about DFI's excessive yet necessary BIOS configuration just to make things work.

How easy was it to set up? I'm a plug-and-play kind of guy.

I am seriously considering the new ASUS board...

It's very plug and play. DFI bios are complicated but if you do not feel comfortable with changing settings then I recommend you do not buy DFI, or even any motherboard for that matter. Everything will work fine at stock, just set your memory (like on any motherboard) and you're good to go. There are plenty of advanced features on that board that you will never have to touch.

Do you want to adjust your drive strengths for best performance? If not, it works fine on auto. Do you want to adjust how many lanes and watts your PCIe lanes get? If not, it works fine on auto. Do you want to change your IRQ values? If not, it works fine on auto. Do you want to fine tune all your voltages in small steps (CPU-NB, NB, Memory)? If not, it works fine on auto.

etc etc...

They dont? 790gx is 8x8 when in crossfire. Anyways I'd suggest an asus 790gx or 785g board, There are even some open box 790fx boards that are amazing on newegg.

After having my friend continuously tell me that it takes a degree in rocket science to properly set up a DFI board (read: too much time), I moved away from that. I was left with ASUS, Jetway, and Foxconn. The ASUS was the highest rated, so I snagged one.
