Default Building a new PC, need some motherboard suggestions

Hey everyone, this is my first time building a PC and i have gotten to the stage were i need to pick out a mobo.

I recently got my hands on the Antec 900 case and my friend suggested to me to go AMD.

Unfortunatelly, i dont know alot about mother boards so i figured i would try and get some ideas for a new mobo here.

I'm pretty much building a new PC from scratch, but i would however like to transfer my old RAM over to my new mobo. Its all DDR2 RAM.

Im looking for a mobo that has...

-decent ammount of sata connectors ( 6 or more )
-Decent ammount of RAM slots ( 4 or more )
-PCI x16 x2 ( incase i ever want to go dual GPU )

Im sure i could list a couple other things i would like. But the things i listed above are kinda my main priority of what im looking for.

Anyone happen to have a suggestion?

I don't really care about what colour it is

I dont have a CPU in mind at the moment.

I have to get a new one.

I was hoping to get some ideas for a mobo and then look at CPU's.

I suggest:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813131367
Supports both CPU's listed below, infact, it supports AM2+/AM2 : Phenom II / Athlon X4 / Athlon X3 / Athlon X2

SLI Ready, up to 4GB of DDR2 at a full speed of 1066/800/667 in dual channel
Onboard sound...ect. A good solid board, and allows upgrading to a phenom if you wish to in the future.

All for a dandy price of $150.00

As far as CPU's go:

You can go for one of the old phenom II X2's

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16819103680

Dual Core, stock speed of 3.1GHz, but its black edition, which means it has an unlocked multiplier. Overclocking these things is a breeze.

I also heard that some of the Phenom II's can have cores unlocked. Depending on the batch of CPU's, you can get a ''golden one'', which can be unlocked to a triple or if your extremely lucky, a quad core. All just by enabling an ACS setting in the bios of *CERTAIN MOTHERBOARDS ONLY*, if im not mistaken. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

$111.00 CANADIAN.

Or...if you want to stay cheaper still,

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16819103772

Dual Core, 3.0GHz stock clock speeds.
Although not a black edition, these things have been overclocked to 3.7 with sufficient cooling, and were in a lucky batch.

Thats on the old windsor chip. Used to be very popular.
Only $65.00

Those are the two I suggest.

Hope I could help......DYLAN. :0

4 Pci-E slots seems a waste, if even for some people, SLI with 2 cards is more than enough.

Plus, with the link I provided, the two PCI-E slots are distanced further, less jam-packed together, if y'know what I mean.
