Default Overclock options in bios

i just got an ECS A780GM-A Ultra and to my amazement, found the bios troubles some i am running a am2 cpu in an am3 mobo. is this why i dont see ACC and more overclock options, i just have ram timings mhz vcore vdimm SB and NB voltages HT link and FSB. no multi or variable FSB. the FSB goes in increments of 5 till 270 hen it skips to 280. thats my wall. i cant hit 280 cause 280s 3ghz. will i have more options with an AM3 cpu installed? i saw alot more in a video review about the mobo

Here's a good suggestion. Sell that mobo and get yourself a better brand. Lol. Next time, stay away from ECS at all cost. You can check the poll somewhere here that its rank 1st in the most awful board category.

Just because somebody is an OCN staff member, it doesn't necessarily mean that their recommendation is the best or something. When it comes to motherboards, ECS is one of the brand names that experienced overclockers avoid at all costs.

For example, you found the BIOS to be troublesome.

I'm not the one who made you regret buying it. I mean, weren't you regretting buying it from the beginning once you discovered the troublesome BIOS? Why does this have to be my fault? I'm not the one who purchased it.

Is it too late to return it to get something a little better? Or, was this recommended to you because it's the best one in this price range?

the mobo is the best way to hit 4ghz with a 550BE for under 75 bucks

the bios isnt troublesome, its ALOT better than my last, its very nice actually. its just that ACC isnt there, prolly cause i dont have an am3 cpu.

you try building a rig with no job...

FYI

Anything that uses the word "Japanese" as an adjective for parts of the motherboard is usually a POS that had more money put into the box it comes in that the board itself. Pretty much 98% of all PCB and Caps comes from Japan/India/Thailand/etc...

ECS boards are really made for bare-bottom budget builds that won't be using anything too high in performance, or overclocking.

The Asus M2N series of motherboards are incredibly solid boards. I'm curious as to why you say the ECS is better?
