AMD vs NVidia Chipset questions - Overclock.net

Is there any major differences between AMD and nVidia chipsets (besides the obvious SLI and CFX differences)? I've been trying to decide between two motherboards as I currently have an nVidia graphics card and I may want to upgrade in the future for SLI, but I'm not sure if I may run through any troubles overclocking (or unlocking more cores, haha).

Specifically, the two motherboards in question are:
MSI NF750-G55 AM3 NVIDIA nForce 750a
and
ASUS M4A79XTD EVO

AMD chipsets overclock slightly better and can unlock cores.

Don't the Nvidia chipsets have a core calibration BIOS setting as well though?
