Well my ecs hasn't failed me yet and its a cheap one. I think ecs is pretty durable provided no OCing is done, just stock,. well not like ecs boards are meant for ocing anyway :P

ECS sells motherboard that are usually re-branded and put in HP/Dells/OEM machines, thats why they sell so much. They usually lack features, and I have had 1 fail on me, and 2 have problems with memory and PCI-E slots.

same stories are said about all of them so still no valid evidence to support that ECS have more problems than others.

So according to Wikipedia ECS is a "high tier" motherboard manufacturer. Right. If they were high tier how come we haven't seen a huge variety of products from them, and everybody seems to hate them. Heh.

Im using an ECS board there are no problems. I can even overclock the processor from 2.0 to 2.8 with a stock cooler but i prefer leaving it at 2.6 the downside is that there are no a lot of options when you overclock but then again its not a highend board

I've actually have 2 ECS running at home, in Malaysia, doesn't seem to have any problems with it.

theres nothing tangible so far to suggest ECS have more problems but there is plenty to suggest they dont.

Gigabyte - 3 years from the date the product was manufactured. Determined by the first 4 digits of the serial number. So if it says 1209 it means it was manufactured on the 12th week of 2009. or Vice Versa...i can't remember if year or week comes first on theirs. It's great because they never require a receipt for RMA. However, if you buy a motherboard say December 2009 that was manufactured on the 36th week of 2008, you've just lost a year of warranty even though it wasn't in your possession. All 3 years are parts and labor. MSI - Similar to Gigabyte in that it's based on the manufacture date but it's 2 years parts and labor and the 3rd year is only on parts so you have to pay them to fix it. ECS - 2 years of parts and labor and the 3rd year is just on parts. Starts on the date of purchase and receipt is required at all times for any/all repairs. Jetway - 2 years of parts and labor. Starts on the date of purchase and receipt is required at all times for any/all repairs. ASUS - Similar to Gigabyte. 3 Years parts and labor based on the manufactured date of the motherboard. Foxconn - 3 Years unfortunately based on the manufacturing date of the motherboard as well Biostar - 1 year parts and labor DFI - I left theirs out because it's a little hard to understand. There's a 2 year warranty but according to their site you must reside in the UK, France, or Germany. If you don't you have to contact the distributor for repair...not sure how accurate that it is but that's what's on their site.
