Default Gigabyte MA-770 UD3 CPU fan not spinning?

It's plugged in correctly.
The weird thing is, if I unplug it, then plug it in again, it works once, then fails to work again.

Ideas?

You sure the BIOS doesn't have fan control options that might be causing this?

Nope... but the thing is it works after you re-plug it in, then on the 2nd/3rd w/e start up it fails to spin.

Try switching to a different fan header. Also if your BIOS does have fan control options, disable them all. I have such options in my motherboard; I just turn them all off and tell it to run my fan at the maximum speed.

EDIT: Just because you don't think an option controls the fan, it doesn't mean it won't. An example is something like Asus's "Q-fan" feature which has threshold temperatures and speeds and whatnot.
