Default Need Help Setting Up Raid 0 - M3A78-Pro

Hello,

I am doing a Fresh Install of Windows 7 on 2x Western Digital Caviar Black
640gb hard drives. I want to use a Raid 0 configuration and I have never done this before.

The computer will be for Gaming mostly and I can't seem to figure out how to set it all up.

Help is greatly appreciated

there is a keystroke you need to press while the computer is booting up to get into the raid configuration menu. if it is an intell raid controller it will most likely be ctrl+I.

also, you should go to User CP> add system and fill out your system specs.

The only problem I have at the moment is that there is no Raid Controller for Windows 7 that I can find for my board.

Also once I get into the BIOS what are all the settings I need to know to setup a Raid0 Config?

Stripe Size +?

What do you mean by that? I called Asus and they told me since no drivers existed for my Motherboard on Windows 7 that I couldn't run a Raid 0 configuration.

Are there any ways around this? I did see a M3A78 (non pro) Raid Array driver for Windows 7 but nothing for the pro version.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

sorry, i did not actually look at your sig to see what you were running, if you had an intel board then you would not need the drivers...

i tried to find your board on asus's website and they do not even have it listed to download drivers. if you can find the Vista drivers thy should work, vista and 7 are nearly identical.

Do it anyway, set the ports to [raid] under sata configuration, then configure the drives into members for raid0 by creating a raid volume (control+I) when prompted. Im actually not sure if its order specific but dont install windows until theyre both done. Then set the boot priority to the disc drive first. save everything and exit. put in OS cd. If it refuses to load windows past the point where it askes you to install any drivers, you need to look into drivers. If it does work and loads the OS, youre good. Or should be. The IT guys I go to say that its basically that simple, period. If it works, you dont need to worry about drivers
