Default AM3 Board Recommendations

So far there are 3 board's that i have my eye on..

GIGABYTE's MA790XT-UD4P as it's a great board for the price.

MSI's 790FX-GD70, great looking board, 4x PCI-e Slots

Asus's Crosshair III, just interested in this, not too sure yet..

My chip has a low multi (12x) so i'm looking for something that can handle 350+ FSB.

I know the UD4P was able to run 333FSB stable with my processor, but the 8x lanes and the colour scheme really makes me want to try another company..

Also, do DFI have any good AM3 boards out yet? If you beleive there is a better board than the 3 i have named, please feel free to shout it out

I've also read good things about changing core VID's, any boards have this in bios?

Go with the GIGABYTE's MA790XT-UD4P. I know I just posted something similar in another thread, you're going to get the best quality from Gigabyte in the AM3 department. Asus isn't bad, stay away from the MSI offerings, and DFI has had multiple issues with their LanParty boards that have somewhat ruined their reputation. Also, just throwing it out there, if you ever need any help with your MA790XT (should you choose this), you can always send me a PM if you have any questions or of course throw out a topic in the forums. A lot of people prefer this board over others.

EDIT: I believe you can change Core VID, NB VID, and others in the bios. Someone correct me if I'm wrong and I'll edit this out.

Anyone able to find people with high FSB's on that MSI?

The Gigabyte is my safe bet, but that MSI one does interest me, just hoping it's not just all looks, no backbone.

You might want to ask the people who have it on here:

http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherb...ners-club.html

Since they have knowledge and actually own the board, so they can tell you from their experience. Good luck!
