If I go to restart my computer (like after installing or uninstalling something that requires a reboot), my comp. will just sit at the BIOS screen. So I have to hold the power button in to shut down, then turn the computer back on, and it'll load up normally. It's just when restarting, this occurs, quite frequently. Yes, I've cleared the CMOS numerous times, as well as tried older and newer BIOSes. My memory is error-free, also. Hasn't always done this, just within the last week or so. Possible PSU issue?

Try unplugging all rom and extra harddrives then boot it then restart. It could be rom or hd.

RAM? I already stated my memory is error-free. Only other drive is an external one, for storage. And it's shut off most of the time when not in use. Computer still does it regardless.

I dont have the same problem but sometimes when I restart/boot up it takes a noticeable amount of time before the system posts/LCD gets a signal, what gives?

Ah, gotcha. Like a DVD or CD-"ROM" drive.
![]() Well, I'll see if unplugging my LG (sata) DVD±R burner does anything... 8GB of RAM, maybe? Hard to say. Some boards just naturally take longer to post than others.

Yes, with the DVD drive unplugged entirely, it's still doing it.

There's no problem if the computer is shut down, and I turn it on. It boots up normally. So if I shut down, unplug the hdds, it's going to boot right up just fine. I have to restart for the problem to occur. I cannot boot into Windows to enforce a restart without hdds. Also, there's no reset button my case to force a restart, either.
