What do I do?

One of those Zalman aftermarket NB are pretty cheap replacement. They seem to be more efficient than most stock ones as well. By the time you invest your time and money into modding a new way to mount, you might as well have just spent $8 for one of those things... Good luck.

If the mobo is 5 years old then no. Most warranty is 2-3 years.

I think all MA770-UD3's have loose Northbridges, I think, mine is like that too, I wouldn't worry too much as it should still be making good contact if the heatsink gets warm.

take off those junk spring pins and re-set it with some proper TIM and cable ties. I did that with the SB heatsink on my board.
