Has anyone heard of this board haveing issues with ide detection? Reload nvidia drivers and after it wont boot. Say no ide found insert system disk. Wont even find cdrom. Would flashing bios fix this? Have already tried resetting cmos. Cant give much more specifics because its not my computer. Would entering bios and load defaults be a better option to try first? Any other ideas to try are greatly appreciated. Just doesnt make sense to me to flash the bios till everything else is exhausted.

I had a GA-K8NS-Ultra 939 that did that once. I changed the ide port and flashed the cmos and it redetected it. Also had some issues with the sata ports until I updated the bios as well.

Yes load defaults before flashing the bios and make sure that the ide,s are enabled in the BIos

I really love that board. That that board and a Venice 3200+ for $210 4 months ago.

Like any board you buy you should have have a bios disk already to go before it even got into your house to be install assuming it's replacing another or you have another computer.

But if it does actual have an issue, shame on gigabyte for not shipping with all the parts working to actually get a bios update on.

Again, I REALLY like this board for the price, very overclockable.

So far my only complant is I think the dividers could be tighter ratio but it still gives you increments in-between the normal numbers and in the end it's never put me in a bind.
I also wish they would have given me more voltage for my ram.
I can only go 2.8 but again, that's still enough where it hasn't nor will it will be new ram that's coming.
