I like the A8N-SLI dual PCI-ex board. If money is not a problem, run it with some Kingston Hyper X PC3700 Dual channel or better (very stable) Who doesn't hate a lock-up when you are the top dog. Definitely the FX55. Throw out the AGP, it's ancient history. I would buy either a 6800GT in single setup or two 6600s in SLI mode. The single 6800 will still outperform the AGP by a mile and the SLI set-up will blow the doors of anything else
You will have difficulty fitting a zalman on this board due to the PCI-ex slot location. Better to go with something like a SilentBoost, full copper base. It's stacked and takes up less room. I like running my set-ups in server cases, big roomy lots of air with at least one case fan front and one in back (push/pull) The hyper X runs hot, so make sure it has heatsinks.
If money is a problem, run a K8N Neo2 Platinum (939) with an FX55 or a 4000+ (formerly known as FX53) It will save you some 600 bucks US and it will still fly. That way you can also keep your AGP card.
Don't buy anything until after March 2005, second version mobos and SLI improvements should then be out. Finally, don't overclock unless you play Battlefield and must leave everybody in the dust (about 17% improvement attainable), any other game will not seriously benefit (less than 8%) and it's not worth the risk cooking for a few points.
